Our leadership has the proven ability to maintain field experience in workmanship, safety and training.  We are a progressive and proactive company that promotes and adapts to technological advances in the industry.  We realize that communication at all levels is the key to running a successful project.  Our project management team and superintendents ensure that our projects run smoothly with ongoing communication between the customer and management team.

Safety is a top priority at Malm Electrical Contractors, LLC.  Our employees are First Aid and CPR certified.  We promote a drug-free workplace.

Our Management

 
Roy Maynes: President, Partner

Mr. Maynes has over 35 years of experience in the commercial and residential electrical construction and service industry in management positions. He is primarily responsible for customer and project development to lead and establish Malm Electrical Contractors, LLC as a growing company in the market. As a graduate of the Clemson University Project Management Academy, he has supervised multiple levels of management. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company. In addition, Roy also handles project management and pre-construction.

Throughout the last 25 years, he has maintained many professional relationships in the Front Range and surrounding markets. He has developed a large network of electricians, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors. He has successfully managed projects ranging from hundreds of dollars to over $6 million on a single project. His primary goal is to achieve a balance between price, quality and schedule, based on the customer's needs.

Trent Malm: General Manager, Partner

Mr. Malm has over 25 years of experience in the electrical contracting industry. His primary responsibilities are operations, pre-construction and business development. Trent is a 1993 graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a B.A. in Public Relations; double minors in Sociology and Speech Communication. As founder and General Manager, he has seen Malm Electric grow over the past 16 years from $100,000 to over $8 million per year.

He has developed a highly regarded electrical contracting company because of his outstanding relationship skills and expertise in the industry. In 1999, he was recognized by the USA Today Money section for promoting the trade industry and recognizing the huge growth potential both personally and for a company. He has successfully built lasting business relationships with customers and coworkers, while completing projects on-time and under budget. Most impressive, Trent has developed a strong successful business and positioned it as an industry leader in the electrical contracting field.

Chris Raskay: Manager of Construction, Partner

 

Mr. Raskay has over 30 years management experience in the industrial, commercial and high rise electrical construction industry. Chris has successfully completed projects valued at over 7 million and has managed projects such as multi-family high rises, waste water treatment facilities, prisons, schools, coal mines, and various other design build and negotiated work.

He oversees project management for MEC and is responsible for maintaining job schedules, job costs, billings, and purchasing, as well as, contract and subcontractor negotiations. He prides himself on managing his projects with a high level of communication with the general contractor while making sure that MEC performs at every level possible. As a respected professional in the industry, he has developed a large network of electricians, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors, as well as, relationships with other electrical contractors.

His primary goal is to complete projects on time, under budget with a satisfied customer while maintaining lasting relationships

Chris Palagi: Estimator
Chris graduated from The University of Montana, is a member of the IEC and holds a Journeyman Electrical License.  Since joining MEC in 2009, Chris has been involved with several key projects, including E.J. Biomed, Drive 2, and Putnam and Beattie Elementary Schools. He is particularly proud of the Agrium job and the Brighton Fire Station.  Chris says this about working with the MEC team: "I have met what are now lifelong friends at Malm Electric. They treat everyone like family. I started at Malm as a 1st year apprentice. I became a journeyman and a lead man in 2012. I soon became a foreman running multiple projects over the next 4-5 years. I was offered the opportunity to start estimating earlier this year and am excited to learn the other side of this trade. Malm Electric does a fantastic job allowing employees the opportunity to grow in this company."  Chris enjoys fishing, camping, boating and almost any sport you can think of. He enjoys spending time with his family and watching them grow up.

Vern Gust: Field Operation Manager

Vern has held a Journeyman license since 2001. He started in the electrical field in 1997 in Minnesota. He joined Malm Electrical Contractors in 2007. His accomplishments during his years at MEC include managing the Larimer County Loveland Campus, Eaglecrest HS Addition, Trice Jewelers, Prana Apartments, Wal-Mart Super Center and The Grove at Stapleton projects. Vern’s personal hobbies include hunting and fishing.

 

 

 

 

 

  


 

 

Cody Lyons: Data/Comm & Security Division
Cody is a project manager with more than 12 years of management experience. He has extensive experience installing voice, data, cctv, and access control systems. He holds Associates Degrees in Web Design and Computer Networking. For Malm Electrical Contractors' Data/Comm & Security Division, Cody does bidding and estimates for new projects as well as managing project budgets and labor requirements. SAM_4597-1.jpg

 

Our Foremen

Brandon Edwards

IMG950685-1.jpgBrandon graduated from IEC in 2011 and has held a Journeyman license since 2012. He joined Malm Electrical Contractors in 2008. During his time here, Brandon is grateful for the many opportunities he has had to advance his skills and grow as an Electrician, while building close personal relationships with his co-workers. Brandon's first project as foreman was the Ashley Estates in Loveland. Brandon says it was both challenging and rewarding to lead a project as large as Ashley Estates. Some of the projects he has worked on since have included Fremont School Renovation and Milestone Apartments. Brandon's personal hobbies include fishing, camping and exploring with his wife and two children.

Jake Rodriguez

58 (002)-1.jpegJake holds a Journeyman license and joined Malm Electrical Contractors in 2013. Jake says that the Aims Community College Physical Fitness Center Renovation project was his greatest accomplishment with MEC to date. Jake says this about working at MEC: "Becoming an employee of Malm Electric has given me the opportunity to strengthen my skills as an electrician. The support from all of the staff from upper management to office staff and our crews has given me the tools to know how a well oiled machine should work." Jake likes to spend time outdoors with his wife and their three children. He also enjoys a variety of sports and barbequing.

Zac Scripter

SAM_4549-1.jpgZac began his electrical career in Nebraska during 2002. He has been with Malm Electric since 2011. In 2017, Zac obtained his journeyman's license. Zac is a Journeyman / Foreman with Malm Electric and has successfully managed many projects including Target T-3279, DELO Apartments, and Village Crest Apartments. In his free time, he enjoys jet skiing and camping.

Matt Grajeda

Matt joined Malm Electrical Contractors in 2008. He has over 20 years experience in the electrical field and has been a Journeyman for over 15 years. Some of his projects include: The Shops at Ralston Creek, Target remodel, and Baker School Apartments. Matt takes pride in making sure all inspection requirements are met. He enjoys collecting sports memorabilia in his spare time.

Curt Campbell

Curt Campbell.jpgCurt began his career as an electrician in 1995 and received his Journeyman License in 2001.  He is a Journeyman / Foreman with Malm Electric and has successfully managed many projects including Greeley Assisted Living, Larimer County Loveland Campus, and the Micron Lab remodel.

Ryan Underwood

Ryan joined MEC in 2020 and holds a Master Electrician license and has over 20 years of experience in the electrical industry.  In his spare time, he enjoys camping and hiking.        

Our Administration Department

Mari Magana Vigil, Office Manager/Bookkeeper

In addition to her organizational and office skills, Mari holds a Construction Management Certificate from CSU and is a Certified Residential Building Inspector, bringing a wide variety of experience to the MEC Administration department. Mari enjoys traveling, sight-seeing, and spending time with her friends and family.

Teri Doehring, Project Coordinator

Teri joined MEC in 2020 with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry.  In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family.
